Large mahogany overmantel mirror of architectural form, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, the richly figured wood frame shaped with a broad stepped and arched crest above a wide rectangular mirror plate. The glass is divided by slender polished metal muntins into geometric sections and punctuated by substantial cast brass floral rosettes, with additional gilt-brass architectural plaques mounted at the lower corners and small applied brass star or foliate ornaments accenting the upper curves. This combination of mahogany, segmented mirror glass and gilt-brass mounts is consistent with period overmantel designs documented in late Victorian and Edwardian furniture. The warm reddish-brown mahogany retains a pleasing polished surface and strong grain, while the brass fittings provide an elegant neoclassical contrast. Condition shows age-appropriate scattered surface wear, small scratches and finish abrasions to the wood and mounts; importantly, one upper section of the mirror glass is visibly broken with loss and radiating cracks near a brass rosette, and additional minor wear is present to the remaining plate. Despite the glass damage, the piece retains considerable decorative appeal and architectural presence. Measures 25"H x 53"W
