Tall rectangular wall mirror set within a richly molded gilt-finished frame incorporating multiple concentric decorative borders, including repeating egg-and-dart, stylized foliate, scroll and geometric motifs. The layered architectural treatment gives the piece a handsome Classical Revival character, with recessed darkened areas emphasizing the raised ornament against the warm antique-gold surface. Based on the construction and finish visible in the photographs, this appears to be a later decorative interpretation of antique neoclassical and Renaissance-inspired framing rather than an early period giltwood example; comparable carved and molded gilt mirrors remain consistently represented at auction. The mirror plate appears clear and usable, while the frame exhibits scattered rubbing, finish loss, abrasions, small nicks and separation at some mitered corners consistent with age, handling and display, with the overall presentation remaining attractive. Measures 46"H x 26.5"W.
