Expressive mid-20th century oil on board depicting a bustling working harbor crowded with sailboats, fishing vessels, small skiffs, nets, rigging, and waterfront buildings, enlivened by several diminutive fishermen actively tending their boats. The artist employs vigorous, highly visible brushwork and passages of impasto, particularly through the choppy blue-green water, sails, hulls, and atmospheric sky, while muted marine blues and greens are punctuated by rust, ochre, yellow, and red accents. The composition has an appealing New England or North Atlantic harbor character, capturing the density and activity of a traditional fishing waterfront. The work appears to bear an indistinct signature at the lower right, though the name cannot be confidently deciphered from the photographs. Executed on an unframed board with old mounting/nail holes visible along portions of the perimeter. Condition shows expected age-related surface grime, scattered abrasions and paint losses, edge and corner wear, old mounting holes, and areas of heavy, uneven paint texture; overall the image remains visually strong. Recent auction offerings for comparable 20th-century oil-on-board harbor and fishing-boat scenes support a modest decorative-art valuation absent a confirmed artist attribution. Measures 26"H x 32"W
