Decorative pair of large oval cast gilt-bronze plaques, each centered by a deeply modeled classical female figure seated amid luxuriant foliage and flowers, the surrounding frames exceptionally elaborate with scrolling foliage, masks, putti, floral clusters, textured reserves and architectural ornament. The reverse views reveal substantial hollow-cast construction with integral mounting openings, indicating that these were likely produced as furniture, wall, architectural, or decorative appliqués rather than freestanding plaques. Their rich sculptural modeling and exuberant revival ornament are characteristic of late-19th-century Continental decorative arts inspired by earlier French Rococo and Louis XVI traditions; related gilt-bronze figural plaques and furniture mounts are well documented in European decorative arts. The pair displays strong golden surfaces with scattered dark oxidation, rubbing, small areas of discoloration, casting irregularities and remnants associated with earlier mounting; backs show expected roughness and wear from installation and removal, while the frontal relief remains crisp and visually impressive. Measures 16.75"H x 12.5"W.
