Pair of antique pressed Vaseline glass candlesticks, rendered in a luminous yellow-green glass that fluoresces an intense neon green under ultraviolet light, confirming uranium content. Each candlestick features a broad circular base molded with deep radiating petal or teardrop panels, rising through an ornate faceted and knop-form stem to a deeply molded flower-form candle cup with rounded lobes and a central socket. The elaborate pressed decoration gives the pair a distinctly Victorian character, with the transparent citron coloring particularly attractive in ordinary light and dramatically transformed under UV illumination. Comparable antique pressed uranium-glass candlesticks are documented from the 19th century, including Victorian and Napoleon III-era examples, while related Vaseline candlesticks remain actively collected today. Both appear in good antique condition with expected minor surface wear, small manufacturing irregularities and possible minute edge roughness consistent with age and pressed-glass production; no major damage is readily apparent from the photographs.Measure 7"H x 4.25"W.
