Two early American-style cast-iron horse-drawn fire apparatus toys, each modeled with substantial period detail and retaining remnants of original painted decoration. The group includes a larger hose or ladder-type wagon with large red-spoked wheels, seated driver figure, and articulated hitching assembly, together with a smaller steam fire-engine or pumper wagon fitted with a seated fireman, cylindrical boiler, exposed machinery details, and yellow-painted spoked wheels. One of the toys is incomplete and is missing one horse from its original team. The substantial cast construction and realistic municipal-fire-equipment styling are characteristic of late 19th- to early 20th-century American cast-iron toys; no definite maker’s mark is visible in the supplied photographs, so attribution remains open. Both pieces are in well-used, unrestored condition with extensive age-related surface oxidation, accumulated dust and grime, substantial paint loss and fading, scratches, abrasions, worn harness and rein components, and possible small losses, looseness, or old repairs consistent with age and play use. Measure 4"H x 9.75"W x 2.5"D and 4.5"H x 8.5"W x 3.5"D./
