Large and highly decorative hand-painted majolica pitcher produced exclusively for Seymour Mann, Inc., dated MCMXCII (1992), modeled in an exuberant Renaissance-revival style with sculptural cherub figures climbing among raised leafy vines around the textured body. The vessel is richly glazed in deep cobalt blue, turquoise and celadon green, ochre yellow, brown, pale lavender, and white, with a dramatically flared, ribbed blue spout outlined in yellow and pink and an oversized scrolling green handle terminating in molded foliate details. The rounded lower body is divided into colorful architectural-style panels and raised ornamental motifs above a fluted pedestal foot, creating the lavish, whimsical appearance associated with late-20th-century majolica revival wares. The underside bears the printed inscription “Majolica / Hand Painted / Exclusively for / © Seymour Mann, Inc. / MCMXCII.” Condition appears generally good with small chip on paint, expected light surface and shelf wear; the underside foot shows notable rubbing, discoloration, and areas of glaze loss/chipping along the foot rim, as photographed. Comparable 1992 Seymour Mann hand-painted majolica pitchers continue to appear in the secondary market, including figural and floral examples from the same production period. Measures 10.5"H x 7.5"W x 6.5"D.
