A handsome English Regency-style drop-leaf sofa table by Hekman, crafted in richly figured yew wood with a warm amber-brown finish and a beautifully paneled top framed by contrasting banding. The rectangular center section is flanked by hinged drop leaves with rounded corners, allowing the table to expand into a generous serving, writing, or occasional surface. Two frieze drawers are fitted with circular brass ring pulls and one is stamped “HEKMAN” to the interior, while the base features paired ring-turned column supports rising from shaped trestle ends joined by twin turned stretchers. Gracefully swept legs terminate in brass caps and casters, completing the refined English-inspired design. The table displays scuffs, scratches, finish rubbing, and several small flea-bite nicks consistent with use, and one curved leg has a visible crack as pictured. Measures 28.5" H x 41.5" W x 22.5" D. Table top measures 60.25" W with leaves up.
