A contemporary bench-made hunt board or sideboard crafted by Barton-Sharpe, Ltd. of New York City. The piece features a solid walnut or walnut-finished cabinet housing four side-by-side drawers faced in striking, highly figured tiger (flame) maple. The drawer fronts are accented by a thin inlaid stringing line along the lower apron and are fitted with turned, dark-finished metal knobs. The cabinet is supported by four tall, elegant tapered square legs. The interior of the top right drawer retains the original paper maker's label reading: "All sorts of Chairs, Tables, Bedsteads and Cabinets sold by Barton-Sharpe, Ltd. At the sign of the Chair at no. 119 Spring Street, near Greene Street in New York City." The hunt board is in good, structurally stable condition. The wood surfaces show minor, expected signs of use, including some light surface scratches to the top panel and minor rubbing/finish wear along the edges and corners. Measures 38.5" H x 44" W x 21.5" D.
