Fairbanks-Morse Code 1124 portable mechanical platform scale with a 1,000 lb capacity. Features a cast-iron platform base and internal lever system, upright steel column, graduated balance beam, sliding poise weights, hanging counterweight assembly, and four metal wheels for movement. The Model 1124 was designed as a heavy-duty general utility scale for warehouses, factories, shops, and other commercial or industrial settings. Identification plate reads: * Fairbanks, Morse & Co., Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. * Code 1124 * Capacity: 1,000 lb * Serial No. G417981 A handwritten provenance label states that the scale was reportedly one of the last labeled items from Mountain States Power in Laramie when the operation became Pacific Power. Mountain States Power merged with Pacific Power & Light in 1954, giving the scale additional Wyoming utility and industrial-history interest; however, the label's history has not been independently authenticated. Measures approximately 44" tall and 36" long overall. Extremely heavy construction. The platform has extensive oxidation, including substantial rust-through and metal loss across the weighing surface. Additional surface wear, scratches, paint loss, corrosion, and age-related deterioration are present throughout. Beam and weight components appear largely present as photographed. Scale has not been tested for operation, calibration, or weighing accuracy. Buyer should assume repairs or restoration will be required. Heavy item-buyer is responsible for providing sufficient labor and equipment for removal. Selling as-is, where-is.
