AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > As discovered, the watch winds; however, it is not fully functional, with the second hand moving only intermittently when the case is tapped. A vintage Hamilton rectangular manual wind wristwatch, likely dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s, with a 10K gold filled L&K case and later adjustable woven fabric band. The square silver tone dial features applied gold tone Roman numerals at XII, III, and IX, geometric hour markers, slender hands, and a recessed subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The gently curved rectangular case, stepped lugs, and restrained geometric dial reflect the streamlined dress watch styling of the late Art Deco and early postwar period. The case back is marked 10K GOLD FILLED L&K ~ HAMILTON. The 10K Gold Filled L&K marking indicates that Hamilton contracted the case to Lutringer & Kammerer, while Hamilton produced the movement and dial. Hamilton began manufacturing watches in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1892 and became one of the leading American watchmakers of the twentieth century. CONDITION REPORT > The watch winds but is not operational and will require service or repair. Considerable age related wear is present, including scratches and discoloration to the dial, scratches to the crystal, surface wear to the case, and oxidation around the lugs. The fabric band is a later replacement.
