AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A vintage sterling silver identification bracelet measuring 7" long in totality, with a curved center plaque engraved U.M.S. 50 across the topside, apparently representing University Military School in Mobile, Alabama, and likely associated with a member of the 1950 class. The bracelet is constructed with flexible serpentine chain sections, articulated fittings at each side of the plaque, and a spring ring clasp. University Military School opened in Mobile in 1893 and later merged with the Julius T. Wright School for Girls in 1988 to form UMS-Wright Preparatory School. The underside of the center identification plaque is incised STERLING, above two letter B marks, each enclosed within a circle. Published jewelry-mark references associate the two B letters within interlocking circles with Binder Brothers. The mark does not correspond with the documented Bastian Brothers marks, which include BB, BBCO, BASTIAN, and various framed or shield-shaped devices. CONDITION REPORT > Exhibits tarnish, surface scratching, wear, and discoloration consistent with age. The articulated links and spring ring clasp remain intact.
