Antique QUEEN ANNE Style DINING ROOM CHINA CABINET

NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Antique Queen Anne style lighted china or display cabinet, likely constructed with mahogany veneers and solid secondary woods, measuring 64" tall to the carved crown, 42" wide, and 16" deep, appearing to have been professionally refinished in the past. A vintage fluorescent light fixture has been mounted beneath the interior top, controlled by a dimmer knob and powered by a standard 110 volt cord. quite sufficient for enhancing the interior. The cabinet features two tall glass paneled doors with decorative wood mullions forming graceful interlocking scrolls across the arched upper sections. Glass side panels provide additional visibility, while the warm interior light illuminates china, crystal, silver, collectibles, or decorative objects from multiple angles. The doors retain the working original skeleton key. A shaped and carved crown rises subtly above the molded top, while the lower apron is gently shaped and accented by a small carved central ornament. Tall cabriole legs flow into rounded pad feet, a defining Queen Anne inspired feature that gives the cabinet a lighter and more graceful appearance than heavier Victorian display furniture. The cabinet was likely produced during the early twentieth century, when American furniture makers frequently revived Queen Anne forms for dining room and parlor furnishings. Characteristic elements include the curved cabriole legs, pad feet, restrained carving, shaped apron, balanced proportions, and emphasis on flowing lines rather than heavy ornamentation. Similar Queen Anne style display cabinets were commonly produced from approximately 1900 through the 1930s. One glass shelf is presently installed midway within the cabinet. Also included are three original wood shelves with double plate rail grooves, providing the option of retaining the open glass shelf arrangement shown or returning the interior to a more traditional china cabinet configuration with additional display levels. The warm wood finish, illuminated interior, extensive glass panels, decorative scrollwork, and compact 16" depth make this an especially attractive display piece for a dining room, parlor, living room, entry hall, or grandmillennial interior. CONDITION REPORT > The cabinet appears to have been professionally refinished in the past. The three original wood shelves were not refinished and display scratches, fading and deterioration to the varnish, and other age related surface wear. Even so, all three remain stable, intact, and useful.
