70s FISHER PRICE LITTLE PEOPLE CASTLE 993 PLAYSET

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Vintage Fisher-Price Original Little People Play Family Castle No. 993, produced from 1974 through 1977, measuring approximately 17" wide, 14" tall and 12" deep. The substantial playset features a green molded base, four crenelated towers, stone-pattern lithographed walls, red shingled roof, working drawbridge and original turquoise flag mounted upon the flexible spring pole. Interactive features include furnished interior rooms, a dungeon with barred door, stable area, movable staircase, tower lookout positions, trapdoor and moat decoration. The open front and rear provide access to multiple levels, while printed interior scenes depict a fireplace, library, banquet hall, bedchamber and other medieval castle settings. Included accessories consist of the king and queen seated in the correct yellow throne chairs, an all-plastic silver knight, a green woodsman or carriage driver lacking the original cap, round banquet table with printed meal decoration, white three-seat royal carriage with turquoise wheels, one brown horse fitted with decorative white saddle and body armor, and one black horse with contrasting white mane and tail. The carriage lacks the original enclosed center seat or canopy section. Introduced in 1974, the No. 993 Castle became one of the most memorable Fisher-Price Play Family environments of the decade. Lithographed architecture, hidden compartments, mechanical play features and specialized medieval figures have made the set a continuing favorite among Original Little People collectors.
