Miniature glass oil lamp / kerosene lamp. Design/Subject: Novelty style featuring a molded cobalt blue glass font base intricately shaped like a vintage street corner US Mail Post Box (mailbox). The front features a raised circular emblem embossed with the word "POST" directly above a molded depiction of a mail drop slot door. Outfitted with a classic brass collar, a turn-knob wick raiser burner, and a matching pinched-neck cobalt blue glass hurricane chimney shade. Material: Cobalt blue glass and brass components. Features: Deep, rich cobalt blue coloration that captures light exceptionally well. The highly specific novelty postal theme makes it an excellent crossover piece for both antique lighting collectors and postal history/tobacciana novelty enthusiasts. Condition: Good vintage/pre-owned condition. The glass chimney and mailbox font base are free of major cracks or structural breaks, showing only typical light surface wear and minor flea bites on the raw, unfinished top/bottom rims of the chimney shade. The brass burner shows a natural aged patina and minor surface tarnish consistent with age. The internal wick is present; the mechanical raiser function is smooth but otherwise untested for burning. Display: Stable, flared circular base footprint. A unique, highly collectible accent piece for vintage oil lamp displays or colored glassware collections.
