Mexican Multi-Stone Carved Figurine – Gray Stone Burro / Donkey and Green Aventurine Cactus on Onyx Base, Southwestern Folk Art Description Item: Hand-carved multi-mineral stone folk art piece. Subject: A charming Southwestern vignette depicting a stylized burro (donkey) with long, blocky ears standing alongside a classic Saguaro cactus. Both figures are permanently affixed to a shared oval pedestal base. Material: Composed of three distinct natural stones: a carved matte gray stone (likely soapstone or alabaster) for the donkey, a vibrant green stone (likely aventurine or dyed calcite) for the cactus, and a translucent, heavily banded cream-and-honey onyx or calcite base. Features: A wonderful showcase of mixed minerals that provides a striking color contrast between the neutral gray animal, the rich green desert flora, and the beautifully layered, swirling bands of the polished base. Condition: Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition. The structural joints are clean and secure with no loose components. Features a tiny natural mineral pit or light surface flea bite on the upper left arm of the cactus consistent with hand-carving and natural materials. Free of modern cracks or repaired breaks. Display: The flat-bottomed oval onyx base offers exceptional stability. A unique, multi-colored addition for collectors of vintage Mexican stone carvings, mineral displays, or rustic Southwestern decor.
