Carved Mexican Onyx / Calcite Seal Figurine – Hand-Carved Sea Lion / Walrus Marine Animal Figure, Translucent Banded Gemstone Description Item: Hand-carved stone animal figurine. Subject: A stylized marine mammal, likely a seal or sea lion, depicted resting on its front flippers with its head raised upright and tail tapered back. Material: Translucent cream and honey-colored onyx or banded calcite. Features: Displays beautiful, distinct natural parallel banding (layering) concentrated on the front flippers and chest, with a striking dark brown vein running horizontally near the neck line. Highly polished to a smooth, glossy finish that contrasts beautifully against the stone's natural milky opacity. Condition: Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Features clean hand-carved definition along the bottom flippers. Natural internal growth bands and mineral inclusions are characteristic of genuine stone art. Display: Rests fully upright and completely stable on its flat-carved flipper base.
