Vintage Carved Mexican Onyx / Calcite Siesta Figurine – Sleeping Man under Cactus, Banded Natural Gemstone Southwestern Folk Art Description Item: Hand-carved stone multi-figure folk art piece. Subject: Classic Mexican "Siesta" theme depicting a person wearing a wide-brimmed sombrero seated in a crouched position with head down, resting directly next to a tall, stylized Saguaro cactus. Both elements are permanently mounted to a matching flat, oval stone pedestal base. Material: Translucent cream and honey-colored onyx or banded calcite. Features: Exceptional hand craftsmanship highlighting strong, distinct parallel banding (layering) visible across the oval base and up through the body of the crouched figure. Highly polished to a smooth, glossy finish that showcases the natural butterscotch and milky white tones of the gemstone. Condition: Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition with no visible chips, cracks, or modern repairs. Clean joints where the figures connect to the base. Natural growth rings and variance in stone transparency are typical characteristics of authentic mineral carvings. Display: Sturdy integrated oval base offers excellent stability. A quintessential accent piece for collectors of Southwestern folk art, vintage Mexican stone carvings, or unique mineral displays.
