Carved Mexican Onyx / Calcite Sombrero Ashtray Figurine – Stylized Novelty Tobacciana, Banded Natural Gemstone Description Item: Hand-carved stone novelty figurine / ashtray. Subject: Folk art depiction of a traditional Mexican sombrero resting at an angle on top of a stylized, rustic rock formation base. The wide brim of the hat is hollowed out, featuring a classic center crown, functioning beautifully as a small trinket dish or novelty ashtray. Material: Translucent cream and honey-colored onyx or banded calcite. Features: Exceptional natural parallel banding (layering) visible throughout the base and the underside of the hat. Highly polished surfaces highlight the warm butterscotch, gold, and milky white tones of the natural gemstone. Condition: Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural repairs. The polished finish remains glossy, and all carved edges are clean. Natural growth lines and variance in transparency are characteristic of genuine mineral carvings. Display: Sturdy, flat-bottomed base that keeps the piece entirely stable despite the dramatic angled design of the hat. A fantastic addition to vintage tobacciana collections, Southwestern decor, or unique Mexican folk art displays.
