This lot comprises a pair of Canadian 50-cent coins struck in 80% silver, dated 1960 and 1963. The obverse of each coin features the laureate head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, surrounded by the Latin legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse designs display the 1957 version of the Coat of Arms of Canada, featuring a shield supported by a lion and a unicorn. The reverse inscriptions include CANADA, the denomination 50 CENTS, and the respective years of issue. A ribbon at the base of the arms carries the motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE. Both coins have reeded edges and were struck at the Ottawa Mint. Suggested reference (unverified): KM# 56. Condition: Both coins are in circulated condition, showing surface contact marks and wear to the high points of the design. The 1960 specimen exhibits pronounced dark toning and tarnish across both sides. The 1963 coin displays lighter, more irregular toning. No significant edge nicks or gouges are apparent.
