This oil painting on canvas board depicts a Mediterranean coastal vista framed by a stone archway. A stone path, bordered by vibrant flowering bushes in shades of red, pink, and white, leads the eye toward a serene bay featuring a solitary white sailboat. In the distance, white coastal buildings are visible against a rising headland under a pale blue sky. The work is executed with heavy impasto and palette knife techniques, resulting in a highly textured surface with thick applications of paint. The painting is housed in an ornate molded frame with a gilded finish and scrolling foliate decorations. The reverse side features a composite board support secured with glazier points and a hanging wire. A small handwritten inventory sticker reading OIW #442 0-13 is present on the lower right corner of the frame. Dimensions: Frame approx. H 13.5 in x W 11.5 in. Condition: The painting is in good overall condition with the impasto remaining stable. The frame shows minor signs of age and use, with small losses to the gilding on the edges and corners revealing a pinkish underlying substrate.
