A collection of vintage pharmaceutical and tobacco advertising containers primarily of North American origin. The group includes a Vicks VapoRub cobalt blue glass jar with a red and white lithographed metal screw-top lid, alongside its original green cardboard outer box. The jar label indicates the presence of 4 per cent oil of cedar leaf and the lid is marked as having been made in Canada. Also present is a Phillips' Milk of Magnesia Tablets cobalt blue glass bottle with a metal screw cap and paper label, produced by Sterling Drug Mfg. Ltd. of Aurora, Ontario. The tobacco-related items comprise a rectangular blue-lithographed metal tin for Edgeworth Extra High Grade Sliced Pipe Tobacco by Larus & Bro. Co. of Richmond, Virginia, featuring the slogan 'America's Finest Pipe Tobacco'. The collection is completed by a cardboard counter display box for Robt. Burns Cigarillos by the General Cigar Co., Inc., featuring a portrait of the poet Robert Burns and a price point of 'Four 4 Cents' on the interior lid, finished with a red and tan plaid patterned border. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Robt. Burns display box H approx. 12.5 cm x W approx. 11.5 cm. Condition: Items are in used vintage condition with varying degrees of wear. The cardboard components, particularly the Robt. Burns display box, show edge wear, scuffing, and structural tearing at the corners. The Vicks box has surface scuffs and residue from a removed price sticker. The Phillips' bottle label is heavily darkened and stained. The Edgeworth tin displays surface oxidation, paint loss, and adhesive residue on the lid where a seal was previously attached.
