A collection of ceramic tea wares consisting of two separate services. The first is a Ridgway earthenware service in the Country Days pattern, featuring a teapot, a twin-handled lidded sugar bowl, and a cream jug. These pieces are of faceted octagonal form and decorated with brown transfer-printed pastoral scenes, including depictions of thatched cottages, stone bridges, and castle ruins. The bases bear a brown printed backstamp within a floral wreath reading: Genuine Hand Est. Engraving Ridgway 1792 Staffordshire England Guaranteed Detergent Proof 73 Country Days. The second is a contemporary Teapia Japanese-style set comprising a globular teapot with a bent bamboo handle and handleless tea bowls. The teapot features a horizontally ribbed body and a removable stainless steel mesh infuser. The set is finished in a celadon green glaze and decorated with hand-painted flowering plum blossom branches. The bases of the bowls bear a printed blue mark: Teapia followed by a registered trademark symbol and a stylized wave. Ridgway Teapot: Height approx. 18 cm x Width (spout to handle) approx. 23 cm Ridgway Sugar Bowl: Height approx. 12 cm Teapia Teapot: Height (to lid) approx. 11 cm Teapia Bowl: Diameter approx. 7.5 cm (Measured against a ruler). Condition: The lid of the sugar bowl shows significant brown staining and fine surface crazing. Other pieces within the Ridgway service exhibit minor surface wear and occasional light crazing consistent with age and domestic use. The Teapia set appears to be in good overall condition and is free of visible chips or cracks.
