A World War II pattern German military technical equipment case constructed from heavy blackened leather with reinforced perimeter stitching. This elongated rectangular carrier was designed for containing optical or specialized technical instruments, issued across the Heer, Luftwaffe, and Waffen-SS to field artillery, reconnaissance, and combat engineering units. The top fold-over flap utilizes a single vertical leather strap that secures to a metal roller buckle on the front wall. A heavy leather loop handle is fixed to the upper panel for manual transport. Stamped directly into the upper side of the main body is the crisp maker code and date "lhg 44", identifying production in 1944 by Lieferungsgenossenschaft der Sattler, Tapezierer und Portefeuiller in Stuttgart. Measuring approximately 4.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep and 15.0 inches in height, the unlined case features a single open internal compartment. The piece retains all original straps and hardware, displaying general surface scuffs, structural compression, and a developed patina from late-war combat service. PM
