This silver-toned World War I commemorative medal measures 1.4 inches in diameter and features a direct, patriotic design. The obverse displays the Latin inscription "PRO DEO ET PATRIA" arched above a detailed steel combat helmet and the combat years 1914-1918, framed by palm branches. On the reverse, the crowned Hungarian coat of arms rests over crossed swords, flanked by oak and laurel leaf branches. The medal is suspended by an upper loop from a classic Austro-Hungarian style triangular folded tricolor ribbon. The metal shows minor surface wear and light age-related oxidation, while the fabric ribbon displays minor fraying at the folds and honest age toning.
