This round enameled badge features a prominent red cross centered on a white field, surrounded by a black band inscribed with "DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ SCHWESTERSCHAFT" in gold lettering. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pinback and bears the stamped maker's mark "Klein & Quenzer GmbH, Idar-Oberstein" along with a separate "Bremen" mark. The badge represents affiliation with the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Schwesternschaft, which denotes registered nurses associated with the German Red Cross. Such insignia were produced primarily during the twentieth century and used as part of official nursing uniforms. The item is in a well-preserved condition and measures 1 7/8" diameter.
