This charity donation badge was produced for the 1937–1938 Winterhilfswerk (WHW) street collections. The molded grey plastic frame is shaped like a scroll and features the embossed collection year "1937/38" along the top border and the organizational abbreviation "WHW" along the bottom. It encloses a machine-embroidered fabric panel depicting a historic 1600 German soldier or pikeman from the early modern military era wearing red breeches, blue leggings, and a helmet while holding a long staff weapon. The date "1600" is stitched at the bottom of the fabric field. The reverse side is finished with a cardboard backing panel and retains its horizontal safety pin attachment mechanism. The item exhibits paint scuffing on the frame edges and light toning on the fabric insert. The badge measures approximately 2 inches in height by 11/2 inches in width. OT
