This original Winterhilfswerk (WHW) donation badge was issued during the 1937-1938 charitable fundraising campaign of the Third Reich. The badge features a gray molded plastic frame surrounding a machine-embroidered cloth insert depicting a historic German infantry soldier in a light blue uniform with red facings, wearing a black shako and carrying a musket with fixed bayonet. The embroidered date "1812" appears beneath the figure, commemorating the Napoleonic era. The reverse retains its original cardboard backing and horizontal pin assembly. Measuring approximately 1 1/2 inch wide by 2 inches high, the badge exhibits light paint wear to the frame, minor toning to the embroidered insert, and age-related handling wear consistent with period use.
