Original WWII German "Hilfs-Krankenträger" (Auxiliary Stretcher Bearer) armband designation tab dating to the Third Reich period (1933-1945). Measuring 7 1/2" in diameter the armband is constructed of white cotton and features the title "Hilfs-Krankenträger" printed in black Gothic script. The reverse shows the text in mirror image, typical of period printing, along with a vertical joining seam from its construction. These tabs were sewn onto or inserted beneath standard armbands to identify personnel assigned temporary stretcher bearer duties during civil defense, emergency medical service, or other authorized wartime organizations. Condition shows light age toning, minor staining, a folded upper corner, and light edge wear, with the printed lettering remaining sharp and legible. OT
