Machine-woven cloth patch displaying the Reich Labor Service (RAD) spade symbol in white on a brown shield, with maker initials "B.S.W." enclosed in a triangle at the top edge. The design features a sharply defined spade motif woven directly into the fabric, with clear separation of the brown and white fields. This insignia was worn on RAD sports vests during athletic training sessions and is associated with the German state labor service, which functioned between 1933 and 1945. The reverse side reveals detailed machine stitching typical of the era’s production. The patch measures 4.25" x 3" and is preserved in excellent condition, with no apparent stains, tears, or fading to the fabric or thread. SW
