Published in 1936 by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona-Bahrenfeld, this complete two-volume hardcover set, titled Olympia 1936, documents the 1936 Winter and Summer Olympic Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berlin. Band I (Volume I) (Die Olympischen Winterspiele / Vorschau auf Berlin) covers the Winter Games and previews Berlin, while Band II (Volume II) (Die XI. Olympischen Spiele in Berlin 1936) details the main summer events. Both volumes feature tipped-in black-and-white and color photo cards depicting athletic competitions, venue facilities, and political figures. Band I retains its original fold-out map of the Berlin Olympic grounds, and the prominent frontispiece photograph of Adolf Hitler remains fully intact, clean, and undefaced (a page frequently removed or damaged post-WWII). Volume I contains a purple owner stamp for "KURT GERLACH, NO" on the title page. Both books are bound in original blue cloth with embossed gold Olympic bell motifs. The covers show light spine fraying, corner bumping, and surface rubbing. Note that Band II has condition issues with text block pages starting to separate from the binding; otherwise, internal pages and tipped-in cards remain complete and clean. Each measures 9.5 inches wide by 12.5 inches high. OT
