Constructed with black Bakelite earpieces, an adjustable spring-metal headband, and riveted metal mounting clips, these European headphones are consistent with equipment used for radio, telegraph, or communications monitoring. A twin-lead fabric-covered cord terminates in a two-pin plug marked "10A 250V." Condition shows age-related scratches, surface wear, oxidation to the metal fittings, and areas of fraying and deterioration along the fabric-covered cord. The Bakelite earpieces appear largely intact. Each earpiece measures approximately 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter, and the headband adjusts from approximately 14 to 18 cm (5.5 to 7.1 inches) wide. Untested; functionality is unknown. An appealing example of early audio technology, well suited for collections of antique radio, telegraphy, sound equipment, and European industrial design. RC
