Produced in the late 1930s, this Deutscher Kleinempfänger DKE 38 ("German Small Receiver") features a dark Bakelite cabinet with a woven fabric speaker grille and a simple Art Deco-inspired front panel. The radio is equipped with two control knobs, a central analog tuning dial, and retains its period two-prong power cord. The interior manufacturer's label identifies Dr. Dietz & Ritter G.m.b.H., Leipzig, and the rear panel displays the original tube layout, wiring schematic, and antenna, ground, and power connection instructions. Internal components, including the vacuum tubes and wiring, appear present. Condition shows expected age-related surface wear, including light scuffs and a visible scratch to the Bakelite cabinet. Measures approximately 9 x 9.5 x 4.5 inches and weighs approximately 4.3 pounds (1,948 grams). Untested; functionality is unknown. An iconic example of prewar German radio manufacturing, representing one of the most recognizable civilian receivers produced during the late 1930s and early WWII era. SC
