This is a Cold War-era East German (DDR) National People’s Army (NVA) enlisted man’s parade belt. The belt is constructed from silver-grey nylon brocade featuring two horizontal grey stripes and a soft grey felt backing. It is fitted with a circular, silver-finished grained metal buckle embossed with the state emblem of the German Democratic Republic—the hammer and compass within a wreath of grain. The buckle and the matching metal catch are in high-polish condition, showing minimal signs of use. This belt was a standard component of the NVA "Ausgangsuniform" (walking-out uniform) and parade dress for non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel from the 1960s through 1990. PM
