Vintage Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Wheel

This prayer wheel features an engraved brass cylinder mounted on a turned wooden handle. The wheel is decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols and script panels, and retains its original chain and weighted striker. When spun, the cylinder rotates around its axis, a devotional practice believed to symbolically recite prayers and mantras contained within the wheel. C. 1970’s. Good vintage condition with expected wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with age and use.
