The figure is depicted wearing a black cap and a wide, tiered skirt. A cross-strap harness with red circular accents is carved across the chest and back. The figure holds two cylindrical vessels, one in each hand, with the vessel in the left hand being slightly larger. Facial features include large, almond-shaped eyes and black markings on the cheeks and chin, possibly representing traditional scarification or ritual paint. The neck is rendered with three prominent horizontal rings, a common aesthetic feature in Akan art. The entire piece is finished in a polychrome palette of black and red over a light wood surface that retains remnants of a white-washed finish. The figure stands on integral carved feet without a separate base.Height: 15.25 inches. The sculpture is in fair condition with significant signs of age and environmental stress. A prominent vertical drying crack extends from the crown of the head through the center of the torso and down through the skirt. There is widespread loss to the polychrome finish, along with surface abrasions, minor wood losses, and general weathering throughout.
