This mid-20th-century oil on canvas depicts an alpine mountain scene featuring a rustic cottage nestled among colorful autumn trees. The composition includes craggy mountain peaks in the background, a small pond in the foreground, and a path leading toward the dwelling. The artist utilized textured, visible brushwork to render the foliage and meadow. The work is signed in the lower right corner in light-colored paint. The verso of the canvas is marked with two circular stamps reading LUKAS and features handwritten notations of the dimensions on the stretcher bar. The painting is housed in an ornate carved wooden frame with a gold finish, a linen liner, and a gilded inner fillet, which carries a label for H. Liebman, Inc. fine art framing and restoration.Overall framed size 29 x 35 inchesThe artwork is in good overall condition. There is visible fine craquelure, particularly in the darker pigments of the evergreen trees at the right and within the lower-left foreground. The canvas is stable on its original wooden stretchers. The frame shows minor surface wear and small cracks to the decorative molding consistent with age.
