Title: Abstract Botanical Composition in Red, Pink, and Turquoise Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 28 x 20 inches (71.1 x 50.8 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in good overall condition, with vibrant coloration, smoothly blended tonal transitions, and clearly defined botanical forms. The painted surface displays subtle variations in texture and pigment application, particularly throughout the red and pink passages. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related imperfections may be present. Presented in a wide dark reddish-brown wooden frame with a smooth finish and minor signs of surface wear. The reverse displays an aged brown canvas support secured to a wooden stretcher, with scattered discoloration, handling marks, and visible fastening elements. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A striking botanical abstraction presents an intimate arrangement of overlapping leaf-like and petal-shaped forms rendered in saturated shades of crimson, magenta, coral, and luminous pink. The composition fills the entire pictorial surface, eliminating a conventional horizon or background and creating an immersive study of organic shapes, color, and spatial relationships. Large, elongated forms curve and intersect throughout the painting, their contours defined by deep black and dark burgundy passages that establish dramatic contrasts between adjacent elements. Subtle tonal gradations within the petals transition from intense red and fuchsia to delicate rose and pale pink, emphasizing their rounded surfaces and sculptural qualities. Several sweeping forms of turquoise and cobalt blue emerge between the warmer botanical elements, introducing a vivid chromatic contrast and suggesting additional layers of foliage. The central and lower portions feature particularly prominent heart-shaped and elongated petals, whose overlapping contours create a sense of depth and rhythmic movement. The close-up perspective transforms recognizable natural forms into a nearly abstract arrangement of flowing lines, saturated color fields, and softly modeled surfaces. The lower right bears a painted inscription reading "Georgia O'Keeffe." The composition evokes the visual language of American Modernism through its enlarged botanical imagery, simplified organic forms, expressive color relationships, and emphasis on the abstract qualities of nature. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
