The surface displays variations in pigment density and texture, particularly within the central dark passage. The exposed paper margins show slight tonal variations, while the reverse exhibits minor handling marks, faint discoloration, and subtle surface undulations. Presented in a black frame with silver-toned inner detailing and minor surface wear. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A vertically arranged abstract composition presents three principal rectangular color fields against a pale gray ground. A luminous turquoise-blue band occupies the upper section, separated by a narrow crimson stripe from a large central field of deep black, forest green, and dark blue. The central passage displays subtle variations in pigment density, with muted brown and rust-colored undertones emerging through layered brushwork. A broad vermilion and orange-red rectangle anchors the lower portion, establishing a strong chromatic contrast. The softly feathered edges, restrained geometric organization, and atmospheric color relationships evoke the visual language of Color Field painting. A handwritten inscription reading "MARK ROTHKO" appears on the reverse. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
