Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A luminous garden avenue in horizontal format, in which two rows of tall trees form a long, arching tunnel that recedes toward a glowing point of yellow light at center. The trunks are painted in striking violet, purple, and lavender, highlighted with streaks of white and pale blue, and their branches meet overhead in a dense canopy of emerald, lime, turquoise, and yellow-green leaves built from short, flickering strokes. Down the center, a sunlit path in lemon and chartreuse is crossed by dark green bands of shadow cast by the trunks, guiding the eye into the distance. A small figure dressed in white stands on the path at left of center, giving scale to the towering trees. On the left, a bank of shrubs and grasses glows in yellow, cream, and olive, while at right a low wall or fence in purple and pale blue runs alongside a strip of green lawn dotted with yellow flowers. A patch of reddish earth appears at the lower left corner. The heightened, non-naturalistic color, the textured, directional brushwork, and the strong recession of the avenue reflect the visual language of Post-Impressionist landscape painting. The lower right bears painted initials that appear to read "WSC." This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
