No significant tears, losses, or creases are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light smudging, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in a gold-toned frame with a brushed finish and a beaded inner border, showing minor surface wear. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A sunlit interior in vertical format, viewed across a room toward a tall open window that looks out onto a balcony and the sea. The window is framed in red, and its white curtains are gathered back to reveal a triangle of turquoise and sky-blue sky above a band of cobalt water and a green hillside, with a small dark figure or bird perched on the gray balustrade. The walls are covered in ochre and mustard patterned wallpaper traced with loose brown arabesques, beneath a pink decorative frieze and a gray ceiling band. At right, a large red panel or screen is patterned with pale, flame-like motifs. In the middle ground, a gray dressing table holds an ornate gilt-framed mirror, and in front of it stands a small black chair with a rounded back and golden ornament. A pale pink column rises at left, and at lower left a round pink ottoman banded in black rests on the floor. The floor itself is a broad expanse of rose-pink tiles outlined by a black diagonal grid, rising steeply toward the window and flattening the space. The decorative pattern, flattened perspective, open window motif, and joyful, saturated color reflect the visual language of Fauvism and early twentieth-century decorative interior painting. The lower right bears an inscription reading "matisse." This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
