Title: Six-Panel Cartoon Sequence with Mouse Characters and a Hot Dog Cart Technique: Ink on paper Measures: 11 x 8 inches (27.9 x 20.3 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied, with crisp, dark ink lines and clearly legible hatching throughout. The cream laid-texture paper shows light, even toning consistent with age. No significant tears, losses, or creases are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities and light handling marks may be present. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Acquired by private transfer from the private collection of the Braun family in Munich to the private collection of the Keller family in Stuttgart. Visual Description: A black ink cartoon drawing on a cream sheet, divided by ruled lines into six panels arranged in three rows of two, reading as a short comic sequence. In the first panel, a mouse character in shorts stands beside a wheeled cart labeled "HOT DOGS," its rack topped with sausages, while a second mouse character in a skirt and bow peers toward him from a raised platform. The second panel offers a close-up of the first character's grinning face beside a round mustard pot labeled "MUSTARD" with splashes flying from it. In the middle row, the two characters face one another as one offers the other a sausage, and in the next panel a character lunges forward with outstretched arms after a sausage that has dropped to the ground. The bottom left panel is crossed out with a large X over a scene with hand-lettered words including "OUT" and "SAVE," and the final panel shows a character doubled over, clutching his stomach. The drawing combines clean contour lines with diagonal hatching for shading, and rounded, rubber-hose limbs and white gloved hands. The simple, bouncy figures and gag-based storytelling reflect the visual language of early twentieth-century American animation and newspaper comic strips. The upper left bears an ink inscription reading "Walt Disney." This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
