A decorative glass decanter featuring an exterior encased in hand-tooled leather. The piece is shaped with a broad body, a tapering neck, and a spherical stopper. The leather is finished in a mottled dark brown tone with antiqued detailing and is constructed in several stitched segments. The front center displays an embossed crest featuring a fleur-de-lis motif. A smaller, partially gilded quatrefoil or cross-shaped impression is located on the shoulder. Decorative scroll and floral borders are impressed around the neck and the stopper. The underside of the leather base is marked with an indented MADE IN ITALY stamp. The stopper is fitted with a ribbed plastic seal. Height with stopper: approx. 11.75 inches (measured against a ruler). Condition: This item is in good vintage condition. There is general surface wear and light scuffing to the leather, particularly along the seams and the bottom edge. A prominent circular area of darkening or finish wear is present on the shoulder above the central crest. The internal plastic stopper insert shows moderate age-related discoloration. No visible chips or cracks to the internal glass or exterior leather surface.
