Title: Marilyn Monroe Portrait Technique: Gouache on paper Measures: 12 x 9 inches Year: Undated Condition: Good overall condition, with vivid coloration and strong visual clarity. The reverse exhibits toning, scattered foxing, staining, inscriptions, and ink stamps consistent with age and handling. Presented in a decorative silver-tone frame displaying minor wear. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition report. Provenance: From a private Florida collection. According to verbal provenance provided by the previous owner, the work was purchased from the contents of a New York estate in 1996 and transported to Florida shortly thereafter, where it remained in private hands. The reverse bears an oval stamp reading “The Estate of Andy Warhol,” an additional circular gallery stamp, and a faint inscription. This verbal history and the reverse markings are presented as found and have not been independently verified. Visual Description: A vibrant Pop Art portrait of Marilyn Monroe depicted with golden-yellow skin and hair, vivid red lips, purple earrings, and blue clothing. Her smiling face is dramatically contrasted against a deep black background accented by bright blue forms. Bold outlines, saturated colors, and simplified tonal contrasts give the composition a striking graphic quality. An inscription reading “Andy Warhol” appears in the lower-right area. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
