Title: Surreal Landscape with a Melting Clock and Rocky Aperture Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 20 x 28 inches (50.8 x 71.1 cm) Year: Bears an inscription reading "1961" near the lower right; the execution date has not been established. Condition: The supplied photograph shows scattered small surface marks and speckling across portions of the composition. Presented in a gold-toned frame displaying visible wear, scratches, and finish losses. The canvas support and reverse have not been assessed through direct inspection. Provenance: From a private collection. Information concerning its earlier ownership, acquisition dates, and collection location was not supplied. The above provenance reflects the ownership information provided at the time the artwork was received for cataloging. Visual Description: This dreamlike landscape depicts an expansive, sparsely populated terrain beneath a blue and golden-yellow sky. A soft, elongated clock hangs over the horizontal branch of a bare tree on the right, introducing a distorted representation of time. Across the middle ground, an ochre and rose-colored rocky formation contains an irregular opening through which a pale landscape and distant hills are visible. A second sculptural, tree-like form rises at the left edge, balancing the branching silhouette on the opposite side. Muted olive-green foreground passages contrast with warm earth tones and softly blended areas of sky, creating an atmosphere of stillness and spatial ambiguity. Bears an inscription reading "Dal" above "1961" near the lower right.
