A large, three-dimensional relief sculpture depicting a pioneer family traveling westward. The scene features a Conestoga-style covered wagon with a white canvas top, pulled by a team of two white oxen. A man in period attire, including a hat and vest, walks alongside the oxen holding a staff. A woman wearing a bonnet is visible inside the front of the wagon cradling an infant. A white dog walks beside the wooden wagon wheels, which are detailed with a hanging wooden barrel. The base of the relief depicts a rutted dirt path with small white flowers. The relief is constructed from a molded composite or cast plaster material with a matte-painted finish and is mounted to a rectangular manufactured wood backing board with a dark wood-grain laminate surface. The front ground area is incised with a copyright mark followed by the name Kings. The reverse features a hanging wire and a handwritten label reading King Farm 1970. Dimensions: H 16 in x W 30 in. Condition: The molded relief shows a vertical crack in the white canvas section above the rear wheel. The top right corner of the backing board is chipped, exposing the interior composite material. The surface shows minor scuffs and light soil consistent with age and display.
