An extensive collection of stoneware dinnerware manufactured by International Stoneware, Japan, in the Heartland pattern. The pieces feature a speckled cream ground decorated with a provincial country folk-art theme, including transfer-printed vignettes of farmsteads, livestock such as cows and pigs, and rural workers. The borders are adorned with floral and fruit motifs including pears and blossoms, finished with a brown painted rim. The collection comprises dinner plates, salad plates, saucers, soup or cereal bowls, and various mugs with different farmyard scenes. Each piece bears a printed backstamp to the base reading Inter-national STONEWARE JAPAN with a semi-circular line framing the brand name. Dimensions: height of stacked plates approx 29 cm; diameter of bowls approx 18 cm; width of group as displayed approx 46 cm (measured from inch scale). Condition: The set is generally in fair to good vintage condition. Several mugs exhibit significant internal crazing with associated dark staining. General surface wear, light scratches, and minor manufacturing glaze imperfections consistent with age and use are present. Free of large structural cracks or major chips to the primary plate and bowl surfaces.
