Expedition Tour Brochure Ephemera. This original 1955 travel brochure (measuring approximately 9" x 4" folded) details "Romain's Medical Expedition thru Africa," a specialized commercial tour led by Dr. Donald H. Abbott, M.D., and journalist Neville H. Romain in partnership with Sabena Belgian Airlines and African Safaris and Research Expeditions. Dated for travel from January 4 to March 17, 1955, the multi-fold printed paper document features monochrome illustrations and map graphics outlining an extensive itinerary across Belgium, Italy, Greece, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, the Belgian Congo, and South Africa that combined medical facility visits with safari excursions. Representing a compelling piece of mid-century aviation, medical history, and African travel ephemera, this rare item presents in very good vintage condition, exhibiting sharp, clear printing alongside age-appropriate light toning, minor edge wear, and original folding creases, while remaining free of major tears, heavy staining, or tape repairs.
