AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Antique heavy-gauge wire milk bottle carrier designed to hold six individual glass milk bottles, standing close to 13" tall to the top of the handle and measuring 12.5" x 8.5" overall. The carrier is divided into six bottle compartments and was intended for standard quart milk bottles of the period, which generally measured about 3.5" to 4" in diameter through the body/base. The open wire construction allowed bottles to be carried securely while keeping the carrier lightweight and easy to rinse or clean. Constructed with a rigid rectangular base, vertical bottle dividers and reinforced upper frame, with a tall fixed carrying handle fitted with a coiled wire grip. The darkened metal surface and straightforward utilitarian construction are characteristic of early dairy delivery and household bottle-handling equipment. A strong piece of antique dairy and farm-related equipment, suitable for display with vintage milk bottles, farmhouse decorating or use as a functional bottle carrier. CONDITION REPORT > Typical and minor elements relative to age, use and material.
