RUSTIC STONEWARE GARDEN PLANTER with MUHLY GRASS

NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Standing 14" tall and measuring 16" in diameter, this substantial and quite heavy glazed planter is filled to overflowing with a large cluster of ornamental grass, as shown. The planter is cleverly styled to resemble an old metal bound container, featuring a deeply colored upper border designed to imitate rusty iron, complete with molded pin or rivet-like details around the circumference. Despite the convincing aged-metal appearance, the upper border is entirely stoneware and owes the effect to the glaze treatment rather than applied ironwork. The rounded body is finished with a heavily textured basketweave manner pattern in warm earthy tones, creating the appearance of woven material beneath the simulated iron rim. The combination of basket texture, aged coloration and faux-rusted upper border gives the planter a strong rustic garden, farmhouse and architectural character. Planted with a mature, full ornamental grass, likely a muhly-type grass, having masses of fine arching green blades cascading broadly over the sides of the vessel and rising from the center. The established planting greatly increases the overall visual presence, creating a dramatic ready-to-place patio, porch, entryway or garden accent. CONDITION REPORT >
